Did somebody just put this Socialism and Liberation sign in the hands of this WWII vet, or is he just another example of how totally fringe the members of this march are? Never heard of SaL? Check out the Wikpedia entry

Did this WW II vet fight on on the U.S. side during that war. There are many WW II vets that fought on the oposing sides. He may be one of them.
This guy looks way to young to have served in WW II!! I was born in 1939, I'm 66 years old, I ski, play golf and am in pretty good shape. This guy looks younger than me. Even if he were 17 in 45 he would be 77 now. What do you think?
Chris, that was my first reaction too; he'd be pretty doggone young to have served in Korea, let alone the Big One.
And so what if he fought during WWII? What has he done lately? Sure he fought against the commies in WWII, but now he's joined them? Shows he didn't learn anything in WWII!
it'd be worth it to know what the tag around his neck says. most of the gold star families for peace (not to be confused with the actual gold star families organization, which the ap neglected to mention at all in their reportage of sunday's rally) are people who lost an uncle or grandfather in wwii, korea, etc.. not that those aren't real losses and real sacrifices, but if the impression being given is that the families of those who have died in this war oppose it, then it's pretty dishonest.
btw, the reason i mention the real gold star families organization is because the families of more than a dozen fallen iraq war soldiers spoke in support of the mission and the president at sunday's rally. when i say the ap neglected to mention them, i mean to say at all. not a single one of them. but they did provide a link to the gold star families for peace.
