I hope this turns many people on to the wonderful feature of the Navy and Marines websites - the fact that they post their DSLR photos in their full high resolution glory. I've actually printed some of these photos on my Canon i9900 printer at 19x13" and framed them.
Here are the most recent Marines images, up-armoring HMMVs in the field.
The trick to getting the high-res images at the Marine's photo/news story website is to go into a story, scroll to the bottom and there you will find more photos related to that story. Click on a picture then look at the two links at the very bottom of the page, it is usually the link on the right that takes you to the huge version of the photo.
The photos are always well-captioned and include narratives. I've been telling everyone I know about this little secret since the war began. You'll get addicted.
